Christmas Eve we enjoyed the company of friends.

Fun on the ice at Potters Marsh |

Ice bowling...or whatever it is we felt like doing. We made snow cones with the pop. We played some hockey too. Ken & Missy w/their 2 lil girls, Brad & Kerri Call with their two kids, Thompsons & their five kiddos, and Moses's with their three. It was fun! |
We came home and had an orderve party (Krieger Christmas tradition...now past on to us) with Brad & Kerri's family and our neighbor Diana and her son.
Christmas Day
We didn't wake up in time for church, figures...9:00am, really?? I am not a morning person. Then add being up most of the night to that. It was sad to not make it, we would have enjoyed. :(

I think they had a good Christmas.
Christs birthday, funny how we open presents when it's not our birthday?? Strange. Thank you family and friends for your thoughtful presents.

Went sledding with our neighbors the Ray's
Oh by the way I told Katy the true story of Santa Clause (Saint Nick), she asked me why there is a Santa. After the story of why there is a Santa, she then proceeded to ask me if Santa is still alive, hm, hm, hm...uh, I can't lie, so I said no but we still pretend. I honestly want her to know the difference between what is real and is pretend. Especially when her favorite thing is to pretend right now and TV mixes real and pretend without telling her the difference. I usually have to really monitor that, otherwise she would try to fly with her fairy wings on for real, instead of just pretending to fly. I don't feel it is right to lie about one thing and not another in hopes of making life funner for her. The fun thing with Katy is when I tell her that something is pretend, she still has fun playing pretend with it. So believe me it didn't damage her for life. That is why I haven't made a big deal about not having a TV in our house, my kids make their own TV and I believe it is good for them to pretend.
So Jesus is real, but Santa we play pretend for fun. She told her preschool friends Santa was dead. Oops. So I guess the whole Santa thing ended pretty early. So if your wondering about the questionable looks when you ask, so what did Santa bring you for Christmas? Um, sorry my fault, I ruined that.
Christmas is truly about Christ, family/friends, good traditions, and fun! I believe we covered all of those things, and so made for a great Christmas. We are excited for our big present, going to see our family in Idaho!! |
Looks like you guys are enjoying the snow! We have practically no snow here is Poky, what we did have is melting. Hope you have fun on your trip to Idaho!
